Like many women I love makeup, and if there is one thing I like most about makeup it has to be a nice lip color. A color that compliments my skin tone and looks good depending on the season. Although, there are no rules with make-up it is nice to select a color appropriate for the time of year. Not to mention it is also important in my opinion to select a suitable daytime color as well as for nighttime.
A few weeks ago, I embarked on a mission to find a nice summer lipstick. I browsed through different websites to find the perfect color for me. I decided to shop online at Mac cosmetics and purchased a lipstick created with the collaboration Taraji P. Henson. Mac Viva glam is a matte fuchsia with pearl shade. This is a limited-edition lipstick and in my opinion, it is truly a great summer color. Not to mention it looks great on my skin tone. While it is a matte color it does not feel dry on my lips and it is long lasting. I used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago to a concert and amazingly the color was still on my lips by the end of the night. Unfortunately, this lipstick is no longer on sale. Hopefully, Mac will bring it back and if they do you I highly recommend you buy it. I must confess I am a lipstick junky.
In case you are wondering I prefer a matte lipstick for a couple of reasons. First, matte lipsticks tend to be long lasting. Secondly, a matte lipstick looks better on me since I have an oily t-zone. So, if you have a similar skin type I recommend you try a matte color which many companies now carry in a variety of colors. I tend to use a glossy or sheer lip color from time to time and mainly during cold winter days. My only complaint is that these types of lipsticks tend to fade away within hours (one) of having them on and I don’t like to reapply my lipstick so many times throughout the day. This has been my experience and I believe it has to do with my skin type. I’m quite sure some of you are able to relate with my lipstick experience. Feel free to share your story I like to read it. Until next time!
